Atlantic TIDE – Transforming Ireland’s Design Economy (Phases 1 & 2)

Led the development, funding and delivery of Atlantic TIDE Phases 1 and 2, a national research and strategy initiative focused on strengthening Ireland’s design economy. Secured project funding for both phases and designed the full programme of research, industry engagement and reporting activities.

Designed the design industry business data collection framework, including business taxonomy, data parameters and classification methodology, enabling consistent analysis across the sector. Led the Local Enterprise Office consultation process and national design industry consultation, ensuring comprehensive industry participation and data integrity.

Managed the project end-to-end, including programme design, project management, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Co-authored the Phase 1 report with the Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI) and co-authored the Phase 2 published report with IDI, providing a robust evidence base for design economy strategy, policy development and enterprise support.

The project established national benchmarks for design industry data, informed policy discussions on the design economy and shaped future enterprise and skills development initiatives.
