North West Regional Enterprise Plan – Interim Programme Management (2022–2023)
Led interim programme management for the North West Regional Enterprise Plan during 2022–2023, supporting delivery, governance and cross-agency coordination for a complex regional enterprise strategy. The role reported to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE), participating local authorities and the Regional Chair, ensuring alignment between national policy objectives and regional implementation.
Oversaw the rollout of the Regional Enterprise Plan and reported to a multi-agency Steering Committee comprising 22 organisations, including DETE Principal Officers, senior economic development teams from Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal County Councils, Atlantic Technological University (ATU), IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, IBEC and industry representatives. Responsibilities included programme oversight, governance reporting, risk management and coordination of delivery across multiple agencies.
Designed and secured DETE funding for a regional enterprise data capture and analysis service, strengthening the evidence base for regional enterprise planning and investment. Led engagement with eight thematic working groups aligned to the Plan’s strategic objectives, ensuring progress, accountability and delivery of agreed actions.
Regular engagement with Ministers and Ministers of State formed part of the role, alongside oversight of key strategic outputs. Also collaborated with DETE on the delivery of several regional government events including the Building Better Business regional enterprise event, hosted by Minister Simon Coveney, convening enterprise, public sector and industry stakeholders to support collaboration and growth
